Registration tax must be paid upon cars, caravans and motor cycles to get license for them to take part in the traffic in Hungary. The amount of the tax depends on the technical parameters, environment protection category of the vehicle and on the date when it was put in traffic first. The Act CX of year 2003 with its several amendments specifies the details of registration tax. The amount of the registration tax decreases parallel with the length of time from the date when the vehicle was let in traffic first.
